Tree removal will render park sterile

Can some one tell me why on earth the powers that be at Fort Taylor prefer cement and lack of shade to the pines? If they cut down those trees, they'll be removing one of the most pleasant aspects of going there. I, for one, will find it hard to figure out why I would want to if there is no shade other than the cement replacements I hear they've planned. Eighty three trees, albeit non-indigenous, cut out of that beach will render it a sterile, hot and an unpleasant place to visit. ...
